When Politics Controls Peace, Ordinary People Pay With Their Lives

Nigerian talent manager, Soso Soberekon, has taken to Instagram to ask an important question about insecurity in the country.
In a post shared on Instagram, Soso wondered why insecurity increases in a particular region when certain politicians are unhappy or defect to opposition parties.
He wrote;
‘’Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed this?
Each time certain politicians are unhappy or switch to the opposition, there’s suddenly a rise in insecurity—bandit attacks, religious killings, and general chaos.
Why does peace seem tied to political satisfaction?
Is this just a coincidence, or are we witnessing a pattern where insecurity is being weaponized to bargain for power?
When politics controls peace, ordinary people pay with their lives.”
