Vigilante Personnel Allegedly Be@t Father Of Two To D3ath Over Girlfriend In Rivers
Confidence Ikechi, a father of two, was reportedly be@ten to de@th in the Elele community of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Rivers State, by members of the local vigilante group OSPAC, identified as Godspower and his associate, J Boy.
Ikechi was reportedly k!lled on Friday, June 27, 2025, following a fight with Godspower’s girlfriend.
Speaking to reporters, the deceased’s older brother, Chiwenkpe Ikechi, claimed that a woman in their compound had insulted Confidence by calling him a drunk.
He said the altercation began when the lady poured saliva on Confidence and slapped him, prompting him to slap her back. The lady then decided to call her boyfriend, Godspower, an OSPAC personnel.
“My brother closed work and came back by 11pm. He came to where I work and drink. Then he went back to his compound. A lady in the compound started embarrassing him, that he is a drunkard, that he is smelling,” he narrated.
“She now poured him (Confidence) saliva, also gave him a dirty slap. Then he (Confidence) retaliated and slapped her back. The lady carried a stick with her son and started hitting him.
“The lady ran away to call her boyfriend who is an OSPAC man. Two of them came and k!lled my brother. They drove into the compound, used sticks and machetes to hit him on his chest, stomach and back. He started bleeding. The thing they plan, they also did it and k!lled the young boy.
“The next morning, I rushed to the Police station. Before I came back from the Police station, the OSPAC personnel also came back to confirm if the young boy is d3ad. And also dropped a message to him, saying that he should tell his brothers and the community that nothing they can do to them.
“The OSPAC are Godspower, Jboy and others, then when I came back, that was the last comment my young brother (Confidence) made before he gave up. As I was coming out from the compound, the same OSPAC pointed a gun at me and my mother, saying they will shoot us and that the case will not go to anywhere. I said ok, you people should k!ll me and k!ll my mother, let me see how you people can k!ll two brothers and mother. Let’s see if we don’t have where we came from.
“They said I should enter their Sienna, I said never, they should k!ll me. They said ok, since I don’t want to enter the Sienna, they will make sure that they k!ll me or my mother.
“The Police caught the OSPAC personnel through our information. Elele Police, in Ikwerre Local Government. The matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, SCIID, PH. We need them to be sentenced. They cannot k!ll the young boy and go free.”
It was gathered that the deceased was also a member of the OSPAC vigilante in his community in Obelle, Emohua LGA, but resided in the Elele community.
