Recently, the actress sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans questioning her changed appearance while others speculated that she might have had surgical procedures to achieve her new figure.

The popular Nigerian actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie, has responded to rumours suggesting she underwent weight loss surgery after fans noticed her slimmer appearance.

Recently, the actress sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans questioning her changed appearance while others speculated that she might have had surgical procedures to achieve her new figure.

Addressing the claims in a recent Instagram post, Mercy acknowledged her transformation but clarified that it was due to her weight loss products, not surgery.

She humorously dismissed the idea of undergoing any surgical procedure, stating that her husband, a “traditional Esan man,” would never allow it.

“I have been selling weight loss products for years, which means that when there is an innovation in weight loss, I’ll be among the first to know,”
she said.

“We have the Mercy Magic tea that comes with a meal plan, we have the pill which is very coded and now my latest finding is the lean fast.

“It will dry you up in two months. This is no surgery zone. I’m married to an Esan man who didn’t even let me pierce a second hole in my ear. So, is it my belly I would tear?”

Mercy is not the only celebrity who has had to debunk weight loss surgery rumours.

In 2022, singer Teni faced similar speculation after losing 75 pounds (34kg). She also firmly denied undergoing any procedures.

Actress Eniola Badmus also denied claims that her dramatic weight loss was due to surgery.

However, in 2023, comedienne Real Warri Pikin revealed she went under the knife to reduce body fat.
