U.S. Rapper DDG Eyes Nigeria, Says He’s Going To Buy House In Lagos Amid Child Custody Battle With Halle Bailey

American rapper and YouTuber DDG is back in the spotlight — and this time, Nigeria is part of the buzz.
The rapper, whose real name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that he’s planning to buy a house in Lagos.
His words: “Finna buy a house in Lagos, Nigeria. What’s a good area?”
This comes just months after he told fans in March that he was considering relocating to Nigeria due to being fed up with life in the U.S.
But his sudden interest in the country is happening while he’s knee-deep in a public child custody battle with singer and ex-girlfriend Halle Bailey — the mother of his child.
There were earlier reports that DDG’s request for a temporary restraining order against Halle had been denied, but his legal team has now issued a statement clearing the air.
According to his attorney, the court did grant him a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) based on “serious allegations” made in his application.
However, custody issues are still ongoing and will be addressed in court through a full evidentiary hearing.
