Two women have been charged to court for k!lling their friend over R1,000.

The two ladies, aged 25 and 26 were remanded in custody for the murd3r of their friend, whom they allegedly accused of stealing R1,000 in Sakhile, Mpumalanga, South Africa.

Lungile Khumalo and Queen Nhleko appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on Monday. The matter was postponed to June 18 for a formal bail application.

According to provincial police spokesperson Lt-Col Jabu Ndubane, the incident occurred on June 6. It is alleged that a 35-year-old woman was walking with a male friend when they were approached by the two accused, who were known to the victim.

The suspects reportedly accused the woman of stealing money during a party they had attended together. They allegedly forced the woman and her friend into a shack belonging to one of the suspect’s boyfriends, where they were assaulted.

Ndubane stated that the victims were beaten with an electric cable cord and a shovel and were also stabbed with a knife as the suspects demanded the missing money. When the woman became unconscious, the accused transported her to a nearby clinic.

She was declared dead on arrival, with medical personnel noting a knife wound to her back, visible bruises, and a swollen head. Police were called to the scene, and the suspects were arrested shortly thereafter.

They are facing charges of murd3r and attempted murd3r.
