Two Brothers Declared Wanted By Nigerian Police For Alleged Forgery, Trademark Fraud In Kano

The Nigeria Police Force, through its Interpol Division, has declared two brothers wanted for allegedly forging documents and fraudulently obtaining a trademark certificate in Kano State.

The manhunt for Yusuf Imam Yahaya and Imam Zaharaddeen Yahaya was announced in special bulletins issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Interpol, Head, National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja on Friday.

According to the bulletin, “YUSUF IMAM YAHAYA (M) WANTED BY THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE, OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, INTERPOL, HEAD, NATIONAL CENTRAL BUREAU (NCB), NIGERIA POLICE FORCE HEADQUARTERS COMPLEX, SHEHU SHAGARI WAY, ABUJA.”

It further states that “A warrant of arrest of the suspect was issued by the Federal High Court-Abuja for his arrest. The suspect is wanted by the Police (INTERPOL-ABUJA) for the offences of forgery, uttering and fabrication of false evidence, he used forged documents to obtain trade mark certificate fraudulently at Tudun Yola – Kano Municipal Local Government.”

The bulletin describes Yusuf as “a Hausa by tribe, Businessman, Aged 27 Years, 7.0 Height, Medium Built, Oval Face, Long Broad Nose, Large Mouth, Thin Lips, Good Teeth, Brown Eyes, Copper in Complexion, Pointed Round Chin, Curly Hair, Small Head, High Forehead, Rascal in Habits.” 

His last known address is B-24, Dorayi Gidan Sarkin Dutse, Gwale Local Government Area, Kano State.

A second bulletin also issued by Interpol Nigeria, declares Imam Zaharaddeen Yahaya wanted for the same set of offences. The notice reads: “IMAM ZAHARADDEEN YAHAYA (M) WANTED BY THE NIGERIA POLICE FORCE, OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, INTERPOL, HEAD, NATIONAL CENTRAL BUREAU (NCB), NIGERIA POLICE FORCE HEADQUARTERS COMPLEX, SHEHU SHAGARI WAY, ABUJA.”

It echoes the same allegation: “A Warrant of Arrest of the suspect was issued by the Federal High Court-Abuja for his arrest. The suspect is wanted by the Police (INTERPOL-ABUJA) for the offences of forgery, uttering and fabrication of false evidence, he used forged documents to obtain trade mark certificate fraudulently at Tudun Yola – Kano Municipal Local Government.”

Zaharaddeen, said to be aged 29, is also identified as a Hausa businessman with the following features: “7.0 Height, Medium Built, Oval Face, Long Broad Nose, Large Mouth, Thin Lips, Good Teeth, Brown Eyes, Copper in Complexion, Pointed Round Chin, Curly Hair, Small Head, High Forehead, Gentle in Habits.” His last known residence is also B-24, Dorayi Gidan Sarkin Dutse, Gwale L.G.A. Kano State.

The police have called on members of the public to assist with information on their whereabouts. “The suspect should be arrested if seen, and hand over to the nearest Police Station or to the office of the Commissioner of Police, Interpol, Head, National Central Bureau (NCB), Nigeria Police Force Headquarters Complex, Shehu Shagari Way, Abuja.”
