Tunde Bakare Reacts To Claims That His Visit To President Tinubu Was For Personal Gains

Pastor Tunde Bakare, Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, has responded to speculations surrounding his recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu, clarifying his intentions.
Bakare, who was among the aspirants in the 2023 presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), met with Tinubu at the president’s home in Lagos on June 4.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Bakare firmly refuted any insinuations of personal gain from the president’s administration.
“Some people still think he has gone there to settle himself. In what way have I settled myself before? What they gave me, I returned. What am I looking for?” he asked.
Bakare recalled telling Tinubu not to misuse his power as president of Nigeria.
On April 20, Bakare asked Tinubu to accept advice and “stop playing God”.
During his state of the nation broadcast in Lagos, Bakare said the president should implement a “coordinated programme” to steer Nigeria out of its current crisis.
