The ‘Essence’ hitmaker advised young people aiming for success to stay true to themselves, work hard, and keep believing in God.

Ayodeji Balogun, the Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Wizkid, has shared his understanding of what is required to be successful.

According to the 34-year-old singer, vision is one of the key requirements for success.

Speaking to NBC 4 at the premiere of his documentary Wizkid: Long Live Lagos at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on Friday, the Starboy boss said that those who desire to be successful must, first of all, envisage it.

The interviewer asked: “Did you always know that you would make it to this point? Did you see the vision before it happened?”

Wizkid replied: “Yeah, absolutely, man. You have to dream it before you achieve it. So, yeah, [I’ve] always [known I would be successful].”

The ‘Essence’ hitmaker advised young people aiming for success to stay true to themselves, work hard, and keep believing in God.

Wizkid and his partner, Jada Pollock, also used the event to unveil their daughter, Morayo, to fans.

The singer was seen carrying his daughter as he posed for pictures with Jada and other members of his team.
