Nigerian singer, Davido, has revealed that when he was inactive and did not record for a while, the music industry shut down, and that was when he realised that he was indeed loved.

Davido noted that the stillness wasn’t just among his fans; even those who often criticised him were calling for his return.

The widespread plea for him to come back highlighted the significant impact he has on the music scene.

According to Davido, this experience made him appreciate the love and admiration he enjoys from his fans and the industry at large.

He said: “I knew that people loved me because when I was not active, the whole industry shut down. Like I was ‘Damn they do love me. It’s so quiet out here. David come back. Even the fans that hate me, they were like please come back we need to diss you…”
