Suspected Armed Robber Arrested For K!lling 18-year-old Okada Rider And Stealing His Motorcycle

A suspected armed robber, Rabiu Muhammad, 30, has been arrested by the Kebbi Police Command in connection with the heinous m8rder of an 18-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Dahiru Tanimu.
Tanimu’s body was discovered in a bush in Kawara village, Maiyama Local Government Area of the state.
The spokesperson of the command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, who disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, said the victim’s father reported to the police that his son had gone out for his commercial motorcycle business but never returned home.
“On the 21st April, 2025 at about 0900hrs, one Tanimu Dari ‘m’ of Kawara village, Karaye district, Maiyama LGA of Kebbi State, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Maiyama that, his son named Dahiru Tanimu ‘m’ aged 18yrs, a commercial motorcyclist, left home for okada business, but did not return back home. Later, his corpse was discovered in the bush,” the statement read.
“On receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer, Maiyama, instantly commenced preliminary investigation.
“Acting on credible intelligence, the DPO successfully arrested one Rabi’u Mohammed ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Dangandu village, Arewa LGA of Kebbi State, in possession of the deceased’s snatched motorcycle.
“In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani had appreciated the giant stride and professionalism of Maiyama Police by arresting the suspect promptly, and directed the DPO to immediately transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Birnin Kebbi, with a view to conduct a discreet investigation and ensure diligent prosecution accordingly.
“The CP equally reiterated the Command’s readiness in combating crimes in the State. He also appealed to the members of the public to always co-operate with the Police and other security agencies by providing accurate and timely information for swift response.”
