Nollywood Veterans, Peter Obi In Attendance As Late Actress, Nkechi Nweje Is Laid To Rest In Anambra (Video)

Nkechi Nweje, the veteran Nollywood actress, was laid to rest today in her hometown in Anambra State, and her family members, friends, and colleagues all came together to pay their final respects.

The actress, who passed away on March 21, 2025, was remembered for her remarkable contributions to the Nigerian movie industry. 

While the cause of her death remains undisclosed, her sudden passing left many in shock and mourning.

Today’s burial ceremony witnessed a significant turnout from the Nollywood community, with several veteran actors and filmmakers in attendance to pay their last respects.

Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, was also present at the funeral, further highlighting the impact the late actress had on her community and the film industry.

Nkechi Nweje was known for her strong presence in traditional and contemporary Nollywood roles, often portraying maternal or authoritative characters with depth and authenticity. Her consistency and humility earned her respect both on and off screen.
