Man Arrested For Allegedly Stealing N20M Worth Of Hair In Lagos

A suspected traffic robber has been arrested by detectives of the Ebute-Ero division in Lagos following a police response to a tip-off about a brazen highway theft on the CMS-Marina Bridge.
Confirming the arrest to newsmen, the spokesperson of the command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, says on April 25, 2025, a criminal gang stole a large sack filled with assorted human hairs valued at approximately N20 million from a moving truck, unknown to the driver, while in transit along the CMS-Marina Bridge.
Hundeyin stated that responding swiftly to a tip-off, police officers arrived at the scene and successfully apprehended one of the suspects, identified as Austine ‘m’ in the Marina car park under the bridge with injuries he sustained when he jumped from the bridge into the car park in his bid to evade arrest.
He was found in possession of the stolen items and has been taken to a hospital for proper medical attention under close police watch. A manhunt is currently underway to bring other members of his gang to justice.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering determination to ensure the safety of all road users across the state. He has also called on residents to remain alert and cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activity.
