Man Arrested For Allegedly K!lling Mother During Domestic Dispute In Benue

The Benue State Police Command has reportedly apprehended a man, Torngusha Usuwe, for allegedly k!lling his mother during a domestic dispute in Gungul Village, Ukum Local Government Area.

According to a report by counter-insurgency expert, Makama Zagazola posted on X, the tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at about 2:30 p.m. during a heated argument between the suspect and his mother.

Zagazola stated that Usuwe allegedly struck his mother on the left jaw with a stick, causing a severe fracture.

The impact reportedly led to heavy bleeding from her mouth and ear.

The woman was rushed to Zege Nyion Clinic in Gungul for emergency treatment but was confirmed dead around 8:00 p.m. the same day.

Following a report by Terwase Usuwe, a relative of the deceased, police detectives were dispatched to the scene.

The body was photographed, evacuated, and deposited at the Gungul Memory Integrated Morgue for autopsy.

The suspect is currently in police custody, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Efforts to reach the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, for comments were unsuccessful.
