I’ll Never Overstay My Welcome With Nigeria – Super Eagles Captain, Troost-Ekong

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has made it clear that he has no immediate plans to retire from international football, though he emphasized he will step aside when the time is right.
Asked in a recent interview with Punch if there had ever been a point when he thought about retiring from the national team.
Troost-Ekong, who has been a pillar in the Super Eagles’ defense for years, reaffirmed his commitment to the Nigerian national team, stating that he still feels physically and mentally ready to compete at the highest level.
However, the 31-year-old was also quick to acknowledge the importance of knowing when to step aside.
“No, not yet. I’m 31 now, and I still feel strong physically and mentally. When the time comes for me to step aside, I’ll know. I’ll be the first one to say, “I’m done.” I’ll never overstay my welcome. But right now, that’s not crucial to my mind. I still feel like I have something to offer the team.” he said
