Comrade MB Muhammad, one of the victims of the 2022 Abuja-Kaduna train attack, has recounted how he came face-to-face with one of his abductors during prayers at a local mosque in Kaduna State.

Speaking with reporters, the Kaduna-based media personality and activist, said he had gone to perform ablution and observe prayers at the Shema Filling Station mosque in the Bakin Ruwa area of the state when he noticed a familiar face among the worshippers.

“After the prayers, I walked up to him and asked if he recognised me. He said yes and confessed he was among those who kidnapped me. He told me he has since repented and left that life behind,” he said.

According to the repentant kidnapper, he now earns a living as a commercial motorcycle rider (Okada) to provide for his family.

He also revealed that some of his former gang members had either been killed or had turned a new leaf.

Comrade MB told reporters that he chose to let go of the past and prayed for the former kidnapper.

“I forgave him and wished him well,” he said.
