EFCC Arrests 120 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Lagos

At lease 120 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud have been arrested.
They were arrested by Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC during coordinated raids across multiple locations in Lagos State.
According to a statement released by the commission’s spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, the operation was carried out by officers of the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Oyewale disclosed that the suspects comprise 95 males and 25 females. Their arrest followed actionable intelligence and weeks of surveillance linking them to various forms of cybercrime.
During the raids, operatives recovered 26 luxury vehicles, assorted high-end jewellery, smartphones, laptops, and several documents believed to contain evidence of fraudulent activities.
“The suspects are currently undergoing further investigation and will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” Oyewale said in the statement.
