A Nigerian businessman has been slammed after he refused to settle his apprentice after 7 years.

The businessman had opted to give the apprentice N1m, while accusing him of stealing N18 million.

A video of the encounter was shared on X.

According to the posts, the young man had served under the traditional Igbo apprenticeship system known as *Nwa Boi* for seven years.

He was supposed to be settled at the end of the seven years, however when the time came, the businessman refused to settle him and instead accused him of stealing.

However, many people who knew the boy came to his defence stating that he’s innocent.

Some claimed the businessman intentionally didn’t want to settle the boy that’s why he made the allegation of theft.
