Lady Mourns After Losing Her Mother And Sisters in Herdsmen Attack on Benue Community

A Nigerian lady, Lucy Tsegba has taken to Facebook to mourn the k!lling of her mother and sisters by suspected herdsmen in the attack on Yelewata community, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
Recall that the suspected herdsmen had on Friday attacked Yelewata, a border town with Nasarawa State, leaving over 200 dead.
She confirmed the tragic news in a Facebook post on Sunday, June 15.
“Oh, My beloved mum. And beautiful sisters…go well till we meet again. I love you but God loves you more. I will forever miss you…I can’t stop crying. Kai God u do me strong thing,” she wrote.
At least 107 people were reportedly k!lled while many others were injured and are now receiving treatment in hospitals.
According to a resident, the attackers burnt people alive, including entire families: husbands, wives and children.
Multiple sources confirmed that the attackers doused roadside stalls and makeshift shelters with petrol before setting them ablaze.
The victims included IPDs from communities such as Antsa, Dooka, Kadarko, Udei, Giza, who had sought refuge in Yelewata, believing it to be safer due to the presence of nearby security checkpoints.
