Vandal Gets Electrocuted, Other Arrested After Plundering Transformer At Osun Prayer Ground

A vandal, who is yet to be identified, was electrocuted while trying to steal components from a transformer near the popular Baba Abiye prayer ground in Ede, Osun State.
A statement by the Management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Plc. (IBEDC), Osun State through its spokesperson, Kike Owoeye confirmed that the incident occurred on Thursday night.
It was disclosed that the vandals were attempting to commit the crime at the Baba Abiye 500 KVA substation in Ede.
“A suspected vandal was electrocuted during the act and was later discovered by a concerned resident the following morning. He was promptly taken to Alpha Hospital by the police. While an accomplice was apprehended and taken into the police custody.”
Owoeye condemned the criminal act, noting that “Vandalism poses grave risks to lives, undermines public safety, and disrupts power supply to communities. We commend the vigilance and prompt action of the local residents and urge the public to remain alert.
