Anambra Police Bust Gang Of Four Kidnappers Including Woman, Recover Vehicles, Incriminating Items

The Anambra State Police Command has announced that its Rapid Response Squad operatives in Awkuzu have successfully uncovered and dismantled a notorious gang involved in kidnapping and armed robbery across the state.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement issued in Awka, the state capital on Saturday said four suspects including a female were arrested during a raid on the criminal hideout in Uke, Idemili South Local Government Area of the state.
Ikenga stated that while acting on credible intelligence, the operatives stormed the location at about 7:30pm on Friday.
He identified the arrested suspects as Chigozie Udolisa, alias T. Dollars; Anaolu Joseph, alias Blue; Chukwuka Udolisa, alias Udokamiri; and Chinaza Udemezue, who according to him, are all within the age range of 19 to 28 years.
Ikenga said the police operatives also recovered three vehicles from the scene including a black Lexus GS 350 (Registration No: ENU 561 LY), an ash-coloured Toyota Camry (Registration No: UWN 614 HK), and a navy blue Toyota Corolla (Registration No: UMZ 135 AD).
They also recovered an HP laptop, a car spraying machine, motor wires, and quantities of methamphetamine, popularly known locally as Mkpurummiri.
The police spokesperson said that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to being part of a kidnapping, armed robbery, and car-snatching syndicate.
“Also, Chinaza Udemezue revealed that his boyfriend escaped the scene with their arms upon sighting the Police,” Ikenga said.
He said the suspects are currently undergoing police interrogation aimed at getting more details on their modus operandi and arresting the other suspects that are currently on the run.
The Command assured residents of its continued commitment to safeguarding communities across the state.
